Note: Due to the Wellington leg of the NZ Ocean Swim being held on Sunday Januray 29th, we have elected to move the Scorcher to the Saturday

Friday Jan 27, 7am: Online registrations for this weekend are now closed – late entries are available at registration today (Shoe Clinic Willis Street 11am-2pm & ASB Sports Centre 4:30-6:30pm)

Thursday Jan 26th: Altered bike for Long Course: Due to the road works between Princess Bay and Houghton Bay which have reduced the road to one lane, for your safety we have altered the cycle for those doing Long Course on Saturday.

You will now be doing a two lap cycle to the second roundabout in Lyall Bay (ie to the medium turn location)

All other courses remain as advertised

Wednesday Jan 25th: Alternative Bag collection point, for Scorcher regulars: if you want to collect your pack in Wellington CBD on Friday during your Lunch break – you can visit Angel at the Shoe Clinic on Willis Street between 11 & 2pm – there will be no formal briefing here, but as regulars you will already be aware of 95% of the briefing content. In addition however, please ensure you keep checking our website prior to the event for any updates that may occur due to road or weather conditions.

This event’s theme is ‘Back to Work Blues’
‘Tri suit’ could take on a whole new meaning this weekend with the ‘Back to Work (or School) Blues’ theme. We hope to see some corporate attire racing and perhaps even some briefcase transition tools.?

Friday – Registration – Jan 27th

Registration Location : ASB Sports Centre, 72 Kemp Street, Kilbirnie (Opposite the Kilbirnie Fire Station – near Cobham Drive roundabout – click here for map

Registration Times :

• 4:30pm Registration opens
• 5:30pm – Briefing for regular Scorcher participants (5 minutes)
• 6pm – First timers briefing – if this is your first triathlon, first Scorcher event or if you are unsure of anything, then this is the event briefing for you
• 6.30pm Registration closes

• All individuals and team members must attend one of these two verbal briefings

Saturday- Event morning - Jan 28th

(Note: Duathletes and ‘Scorching Open Water participants’, will start at the same time as the relevant Triathlon Option (i.e. duathletes doing the medium course, will start with the medium course triathletes, from the same place on the beach – but you will run along the beach northwards rather than into the water)

• Prizegiving : This will being after last participant finishes (approximately 11:30am)
