Scorching Triathlon Teams Challenge
The Scorching Triathlon Teams Challenge will be back for 2016 with full road closures. It will be based from Scorching Bay and will use the same format as trialed in 2015 – which if you were there you’ll know was a lot of fun.
- All entries must be teams (although you can enter individually and we will put you into a Scorcher Surprise team, so you can meet new friends)
- All teams are comprised of three team members
- All teams members complete a full triathlon (over a 300m swim, 13k bike and 3k run – or Novice option 100m swim, 6.5k bike and 1.5k run)
- The race will be done via a staggered start format, ie team member A starts 45 minutes before Team Member B, who starts 45 Minutes before Team member C. All team members therefore get the chance to cross the finish line and we then compare the combined times of the team for the overall glory
What we want is for you to get your workplace, friends or family together and come out and have a huge amount of fun at the Scorching Triathlons Team Challenge!

What is the “individual entry fee” option, I thought this event was for teams only?
We know some people just don’t have the desire to try and convince friends, family or workmates (or even mortal enemies) to join them in a Scorcher team (event though it is a huge amount of fun racing with those you know already), so the Angels decided that they can help make your team for you!
Thus, we have a Scorcher Surprise registration option for any individuals.
This means you will be matched with two other participants and become a Scorcher Surprise Team. Yes, we are going to introduce you to TWO new friends, who you will join forces with on the weekend and all play nicely together. Kind of like a special spot prize before you even start.
So, for all you singles out there enter online here Scorcher Surprise (Find me a Team) entry.
Now remember – just like when you were at school and used to get billeted (do they still do that?), you can’t swap, complain or be mean to whoever you are placed with. Nice, friendly, supportive behavior is the only way for any Scorcher Surprise Teams. Otherwise extra minutes can sometimes be added to your individual times. Crazy how that happens sometimes.
